What are care cards

In an effort to help extend the compassionate care we as healthcare providers provide, we encourage hospitals & health care professionals to implement a CARE card program. 

CARE cards can be sent out to every family who has a family member who passes while in the unit you're working on.

This program was implemented in an MSICU at a local community hospital in Maryland with the goal to extend the compassionate care we provide to patients to their families after the patients passing. 

The cards are signed by the entire unit and also have a personalized note card inside from someone who cared for the patient. The cards are sent out 1-2 weeks after the patients passing
